Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec / SERIF / SAMSUNG 2015

Krona o Stjãrna have long been inspired by all things coming from the world of Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, the preeminent fraternal design team that has produced the iconic Joyn system and Slow chair for Vitra, the Clouds Divina system for Danish design company Kvadrat as well as may other elegant and poetic products, furniture and environments.  This time around, they have designed a multi-scale television system that carries the same serene aesthetic and ethos that Studio Bouroullec has become famous for.

Elegant furniture form factor for a television.

The brothers Bouroullec in the workshop.

The Bouroullecs wanted to move away from the perceivably increased obsession with the ultra-thin 'black screen' form factor in favor of a more integrated device that would live as furniture in your home.  The "I" section of the screen's bezel acts as a small 'shelf' and the television comes with four optional legs to use as a freestanding unit, to be viewed where the user sees fit.

Multiple scales available.

SERIF will be pre-launched during the London Design Festival (21-27 September).

You can visit the exhibit Bouroullec X Samsung at the The River Rooms in the Somerset House (Strand Entrance, London WC2R1LA).

Available in stores from 2nd November 2015.

After the now infamous "Fracas", mourning the end of the Clarkson era of BBC übershow Top Gear, and months of speculation, the lads have signed a three-year deal to do a nonfiction automobile show on Amazon Prime TV.  Also joining the crew will be former TG co-mastermind and producer Andy Wilman.  Wilman resigned from the BBC after co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May followed Jeremy Clarkson out the door.  Clarkson was fired from the BBC after berating and assaulting a producer during filming over dining arrangements (keep a Snickers handy, Jezza).

The trio (and Wilman) together turned what Clarkson at one time called 'a pokey little car show' into the largest viewership on the planet, with over 350 million weekly viewers in over 190 countries in various formats.  The show was famous for its classic British humor, double entendres, often controversial jokes and sophmoric antics of Clarkson mixed with great photography, soundtracks, races and challenges performed by the three all over the world.  The onscreen chemistry of the three hosts cannot be overstated.

Filming of the new series begins in the fall, hopefully we won't have to wait 5-9 business days after release of the first episode.

International stars Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Ana Ivanovic debut a new elegant collaboration between designer Yohji Yamamoto and adidas at this year's French Open.  Lightweight materials and rich floral contrast make for a great combination of speed and style this summer.

UPDATE: Both Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Ana Ivanovic made it into their respective Semifinals at Roland Garros.  Well done!

Ubiquitous Super-Producer, Rapper, Artist and Entrepreneur Pharrell adds an upcoming appearance on "The Simpsons" to his resume.  The episode airing February 8th on FOX deals with Pharrell and his creation of a new official song for the city of Springfield after it is discovered that their current anthem is not unique.  Hopefully in the end everyone will be 'Happy' with the results.
